To end a positive year for both companies; two 'Made in the
Midlands' members have struck up a mutually beneficial trading
relationship. Proving the ethos of made in the midlands the two
companies met at the MIM awards this autumn whilst on
neighbouring exhibition stands. Mason Metals recycle ferrous and
non ferrous metals and Amvar Handling Solutions
Since then Masons have bought a fork lift truck from Amvar; and
Amvar has recycled approx 10 redundant trucks along with various
scrap components and batteries through Masons.
Neil Woodall said "Amvar is very close to us geographically but the
two businesses weren't talking. Our membership brought us
together and has provided business opportunities for both of us! As
well as buying the truck Malcolm is putting together
quotes for servicing and we've bought other warehouse
consumables from him since. For us this is why we pay our
subscription - hopefully we can continue to build similar
relationships with other members!".
Malcolm Mitchell Amvars MD recalls .......
"What a great way to meet new customers! Since we joined MIM, one of the main benefits we have found is how much
easier it is to talk to like-minded business owners. Mason Metals actually approached us in the first instance and they
are a pleasure to deal with. We have also struck up similar relationships with other MIM members and we hope this
continues in the long term interest of doing genuine ‘local’ business."
Both companies plan to take stands again at the next MIM exhibition in Spring 2012.
